About the studio

A life in paint, shared by post.

The Painted Few grew from a simple wish: to make an artist’s life of looking, traveling, and painting available in a form that could be held.

The story

More than three decades of attention.

The Painted Few started long before it had a name — on work trips to places I never expected to fall for, and on family trips with my wife and daughters, chasing the kind of light that makes you stop walking and just look for a minute.

Some of my favorite memories aren't the landmarks at all. They're searching for sea shells with my daughters along a white sandy beach, everyone's pockets full of the "best one" by the end of the walk. Coffee on a balcony before anyone else in the house is awake. A wrong turn down some little street that turned into the best part of the trip. The kind of simple, ordinary moments that end up being what you actually remember a year later.

I've always been the guy who wants to bring a piece of a place home with him. Something that goes beyond the usual souvenir. Thirty-plus years of painting has taught me that a place isn't really the buildings or the coastline — it's the people you shared it with and the mood that settled over you while you were there.

That's what I'm after with every piece I paint. Not a postcard version of a destination, but the feeling of it — so that when it's sitting on your desk or your bookshelf, it brings back your own memories as much as mine.

Each season, I pick one destination and build a collection around it: I paint the originals, have them printed on museum-quality cotton paper, sign and number each one, and send them out to an interested group of people who want real art in their homes — not something mass-produced, and not something you'd find hanging in a hundred other living rooms.

No galleries. No factory runs. Just the work, from my studio to your home.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions.

What arrives each month?+

One hand-signed 5×7 inch fine art print, reproduced from an original travel-inspired painting on museum-quality cotton paper, along with a short travel story about the place that inspired it and thoughtful notes on local sites, restaurants, and other ways to experience the destination.

Is every print signed by the artist?+

Yes. Every print is hand signed by the artist.

When will my print ship?+

During the launch reservation, your payment is collected immediately and your first hand-signed print ships December 1, 2026. Monthly plans charge again January 1, 2027, then on the first of each month; paid-upfront options are charged once and their included prints ship monthly. After launch, prints ship monthly between the 1st and 7th. Join by November 30, 2026 to receive 100 bonus entries in this season’s vacation drawing. Shipping is included for the contiguous United States; Alaska and Hawaii are excluded.

Can I choose the artwork?+

The monthly subject is part of the discovery. Members receive the selected painting for that month, inspired by the season’s travels.

Will the art style or medium stay the same?+

Art styles and mediums may change throughout the seasons. Each monthly work is a new interpretation of a real place and the artist’s attention.

What are the drawings?+

Every Places membership includes tier-specific entries each active month: Passport receives 10 art + 10 vacation entries, Explorer 20 + 20, Voyager 40 + 40, and Collector 60 + 60. The three monthly vacation-entry amounts combine for The Painted Few quarterly trip drawing, so a full-season member receives 30, 60, 120, or 180 standard travel entries by tier. No purchase is necessary to enter. See the quarterly trip details.

Do Places and Driver’s Collection have separate giveaway winners?+

Not for The Painted Few’s brand-wide giveaways. Eligible entries from both collections are combined into one applicable drawing pool, and one winner is selected from all eligible entries. Collection-specific drawings, such as an original artwork giveaway tied to a particular collection, may have their own separate entry pool. See the Official Rules for each drawing.

Can I enter without purchasing?+

Yes. Free mail-in entry details are provided in the Official Rules.

What happens when my term ends?+

Explorer, Voyager, and Collector complete their prepaid term after the final shipment. The Collector 12-month upfront option includes a 13th monthly release at no additional charge. After the prepaid term, continue with Passport at $17/month unless canceled. Passport may be canceled at any time.

Can I give a membership as a gift?+

Yes. Enter your name and address for billing, then use the recipient’s name and shipping address for delivery. If you would like to arrange a gift message or coordinate delivery timing, contact support@thepaintedfew.com before ordering.

What if my print arrives damaged?+

Contact us with your order details and a photograph of the package and print so we can help.
